Explanation of Fees Minimize
  • Visa/MC Discount Rate
    The percentage rate assessed on the sales processed through your
    merchant account.
     
  • Statement Fee
    Included in your statement fee is your unlimited access to 24/7 merchant support to assist you with any questions you may have regarding support of your equipment, processing and billing questions. Additionally, a paper statement is mailed to you on a monthly basis detailing all your
    credit card processing activity for the prior month.
     
  • Monthly Minimum
    A monthly minimum is the total amount of discount and transaction fees assessed to your account. You are billed only for your monthly minimum or your total fees that are assessed, whichever is greater.
     
  • Contract Term
    We currently have no contract term for our Free terminal program. You are free to process on a month to month basis and cancel anytime with written notice.
     
  • Batch Header Fee
    A fee assessed to electronically submit an accumulation or “batch” of authorized transactions for settlement and merchant funding.
     
  • Downgrades
    Non-qualified Surcharges also known as “downgrades” are a result of transactions that are assessed higher fees from Visa and MasterCard and are passed on to the merchant. Some non-qualified surcharges occur on specific cards (i.e. Visa Signature Card, Visa Infinite Card, MasterCard World Card, and “foreign” cards issued outside the United States ) as well as commercial cards such as Fleet Cards, Corporate Cards, GSA cards and
    Purchase Cards. A transaction can also be classified as non qualified if it does not contain all the attributes of a qualified transaction (i.e. batching out the same day a transaction was authorized, key entering a swipe transaction)

Virtual TerminalsOur Virtual Terminal, included in our QuickCommerce Payment Gateway, is like Internet-based credit card machines.

Merchant Advisors provides you everything you need to accept credit cards.

  • You can connect to your secure Virtual Terminal using any Internet Browser such Internet Explorer.
  • We provide you a unique user name and password which allow you access to your account from any PC.
  • Process sales or access detailed account reporting in real-time, 24 hours a day.
  • Sales orders collected from your web site through secure email can also be processed manually with the Virtual Terminal.
  • Submit, authorize, capture, and settle credit card transactions without the need for separate transaction terminal or processing software.
  • Credit card transactions are authorized in real-time (immediately upon submitting).

How long does it take to get approved?
Same Day approval on Retail merchant if your application is received by 11am. Same day approval for ecommerce merchants under $10,000/month. 48-72 hours for larger merchants.


How will I know when I’m approved?

You’ll receive a welcome email including everything you’ll need to get started using your approved merchant account. We’re always available via phone to answer any questions during set up.


Will training be provided?

We’re happy to answer any question you may have on setting up and using your new merchant account. For question relating to integrating the gateway to an unsupported shopping cart, it is best to have your technical person call us so we may assist.


How soon will I have access to funds?

Normally, settled funds for Visa/MasterCard are deposited into your business checking account within 48 hours. Settled funds for American Express and Discover may take 72 hours and will show as separate deposits on your bank statement.


Can I use my existing business checking account?

Yes.


Can I still apply with bad credit?

Yes! We boast one of the highest approval ratings for new merchant accounts. We welcome you to apply. We also offer 100% money back guarantee if you’re not approved for any reason.


If I need help, who do I call?

For general questions during business hours, call 800-870-7622. For questions regarding operation of your merchant account call support help line 24/7 located on your terminal or in welcome kit provided.


What credit cards can I accept?

Merchant Advisors enrolls you to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
We also offer authorization for other major credit cards. If you already are enrolled for these, let us know your Account numbers and we will notate our files so you can process using your existing accounts.


Can I accept debit cards?

You can accept debit cards for debit networks throughout the United States. Contact your sales representative to enroll you in a debit card program. This program is included with our Free Terminal Program.


How are my monthly fees paid?

Monthly fees are automatically debited from your business checking account the end of each month. There is no need to send in a check to pay fees. A detail of all fees is provided in your monthly statement to reconcile your accounting.


What are my monthly fees?

Monthly fees vary based on the type of your account. All merchants pay a monthly minimum, a statement fee, and a Discount Rate and Authorization fee on every transaction. Refer to your Merchant Bankcard Agreement for your specific fees.


How do I update my account address or telephone number?

Contact our office to complete a change request form. Changes will be made in two business days of receipt of request.


How do I change my Doing Business As (DBA) in your records?

This change requires a signature from the account guarantor. There is a $15.00 fee for DBA changes which will be deducted from your business checking account. The name on your business checking account must match your DBA or corporate name. Changes will be made in two business days of receipt of request.


How do I change the Direct Deposit Account (DDA) my batches are deposited into?

This change requires a signature from the account guarantor. There is a $15 fee for DDA changes which will be deducted from your new business checking account.


Can I have other people as signers or contacts on my merchant account?

The guarantor completes and signs a Contact Change form. The contact is only allowed to obtain account information; the guarantor must still authorize changes. If you need to change the guarantor, please call us.


Can I place a hold on my merchant account?
We can close your account for up to four months and will charge a $15.00 reopen fee. After four months the account falls off our processor system and the merchant must reapply. Other vendors providing a service to you may assess a separate reactivation fee.
